Complimentary Membership for Students and Academics


CREFC is dedicated to educating students and empowering professors about CRE finance. CREFC offers an unparalleled ability to connect, participate, advocate and learn. CREFC develops educational programming to provide its members with the foundational knowledge necessary to be successful within the CRE industry.  

Benefits of Academic Membership

Academic Members will have to reapply annually to renew their membership. Academic memberships start September 1st and end on August 31st.

Qualifications  for Academic Membership: 

Academic Members must be a full-time student registered for 12 (9 for a graduate student) or more credits for the semester.
OR
Academic Members must be a full-time Professor teaching 3-5 classes per semester, and work 40 hours per week. Academic Members cannot be an adjunct professor and working outside of the university.

Academic Members cannot be a current CREFC Member through an employer’s membership and/or Employed full time or part time within the commercial real estate finance industry or capital markets sector.

If your status changes, either through your own disclosure, account updates or via conference registrations, your academic membership will be terminated and any registrations received at the discounted rate for which you no longer qualify will be cancelled and refunded.


Application Process for Academic Membership: 

The following will be required to apply for Academic Membership for Students:

  • Student ID
  • Government issued ID, such as a passport or drivers license
  • Current semester's transcript or schedule with your name, number of credits per class, and school name.
  • Resume    

The following will be required to apply for Academic Membership for Professors and other full-time Academics:

  • Government issued ID, such as a passport or drivers license
  • University ID
  • Screenshot of current semester's teaching schedule
  • Resume
