Award Winners Announced at Annual June Conference
NEW YORK, June 13, 2023 – The CRE Finance Council (CREFC) announced today that Leah Nivison is the recipient of its fourth annual Woman of the Year Award and Daniel (Dan) Olsen is the recipient of the 2023 Founders Award. CREFC made the announcements at its Annual Conference in New York City.
CREFC’s Founders Award. CREFC’s Founders Award is bestowed on an industry professional who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and offered significant contributions to the betterment of CREFC and the commercial real estate finance industry. Established in 2006, recipients of this award have engaged in innovative and creative business practices and industry activities that have successfully enhanced the CRE marketplace and improved debt liquidity to a key component of the U.S. economy – commercial real estate.
As a senior vice president at KeyBank Real Estate Capital, Mr. Olsen has had a highly successful career that spans over three decades and touches on many aspects of commercial real estate finance and mortgage banking. He has been a dedicated and highly active member of many CREFC committees including its Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Dan, the current chair of CREFC’s Long Range Planning & Investment Committee, has been a member of CREFC since 1996.

Mr. Olsen, a senior vice president of KeyBank’s loan servicing division, has managed his firm’s appraisal department, loan servicing and loan operations, workout and recovery, and loan sales. He serves on CREFC’s Board of Governors and has been Chair of CREFC’s Servicers Forum. Dan has also served on University of Texas at Arlington’s Advisory Board of The Center for Metropolitan Density.
